Trauma-Informed Talk Therapy

We start by getting to know each other a bit, then I will ask about you, your origins, your identities, and your intentions for health, healing, and growth. My approach is humanistic, person-centered, attachment based and uses an eclectic mix of modalities based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I provide therapy in-person and online in Oregon and New York State.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

The term "trauma-informed" is frequently used these days, and while it can sometimes lose its impact, it remains crucial in a therapeutic setting to understand its value. To me, being trauma-informed means deeply listening, being fully present with you, and hearing your story and life experiences with compassion and empathy. I strive to create a space of safety, choice, and empowerment, fostering a trusting relationship built on trustworthiness and collaboration.

In our sessions, we will typically spend an hour addressing your concerns, exploring how they relate to your life patterns, and, if appropriate or desired, identifying steps for moving forward.

Trauma-informed therapy offers flexibility in time and location. I often meet with clients online, in my office, and occasionally in the community or nature. My office includes a variety of card decks, art supplies for activities like SoulCollage™, and a therapy dog named Sorrel.
