Valeria Clarke (she/her)

No matter the role I am in, my goal is to develop a connection with you that fosters trust, insight, and a deeper understanding of yourself. I have navigated my own journey through life, gaining strength and resilience, and now I offer the world what I have learned.

We will work as a creative team. Sometimes, I will support your innate intelligence in identifying and creating solutions; other times, I will use what you have shared with me, along with my intuition, to offer advice, share observations, and make suggestions.

My approach is rooted in social work, focusing on the well-being of individuals and society. This means attending to each person's needs and how they can gain support from their environment. My core values are creativity and love, which shape my perspective of individuals within their surroundings, seeking to enhance well-being and satisfaction in their lives. I am also deeply committed to social justice and social change, advocating for both individuals and the community.

Over the past decades, I have developed my skills and approaches in various social service roles, including domestic violence legal advocacy, substance use treatment, mental health crisis services, supervision, and as a director of a community mental health organization. These experiences have led me to private practice.

I approach my work through a trauma-informed lens, using a strengths-based, attachment, and humanistic approach. My eclectic toolkit includes Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and resource development in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I also integrate Jungian methods, including archetypal work, shadow work, and mandala creation, aiming to illuminate the facets of self that influence our unconscious behaviors, thoughts, and actions. Additionally, the lens of neuroscience supports a scientific understanding of behavior change.

I have come to appreciate the power of psychedelic approaches for diving deep beneath layers of consciousness. My psychedelic work honors the traditions of indigenous people who have long used psychedelics for healing. As with all my work, my nature-based and relational style reflects my precolonial lineage.

Beyond my private practice, I serve as an educator within the Subtle Winds Psilocybin Facilitator training program and as a core team member of the organization.

If you are looking to address experiences of stress, trauma, abuse, shame, grief, or struggle with identity or relationship issues, I look forward to working with you in whichever modality feels most comfortable. I have extensive experience working online and welcome you to visit Sorrel and me in our office if you prefer an in-person session.
